Fishing Aboard The Ebb Tide

“Ebb Tide” is an exceptionally well maintained Chesapeake Bay fishing boat. She is a custom 40′ Robbins Bay boat with plenty of elbow and fishing room for your comfort which will provide us a safe, comfortable, dry ride to the fishing grounds.

The vessel is fully equipped with all of the required US Coast Guard safety equipment. We typically cruise at around 20 knots so ride time to and from the fishing areas is quick and provides more time for fishing.

Charter Boat Electronic Fishing and Safety Gear

Some of the key features of the boat are:

  • 40′ Robbins Bay – Single Caterpillar Diesel
  • State of the art electronics, tackle and safety equipment
  • We accommodate up to 15 anglers
  • Fully equipped for Chesapeake Bay Fishing

Fishing Gear

All the fishing gear on board is well maintained and durable. There is a variety of different sizes of rods and reels for matching the right gear for the type of fishing. The gear is either Shimano or Penn which are leading brands for quality. If you have your own gear that you’d like to bring along you should feel free to do so, just let me know in advance so I can be sure to have enough proper storage.

What To Bring To The Boat

Deale fishing Captain Billy Gee and Ebb Tide Fishing Charters will supply everything you need to catch fish which will include top brand name rod n reels, fishing tackle, live or artificial baits, fishing licenses, and even ice for the fish. We have provided a list of a few things you may want to bring that may make your Deale fishing trip more comfortable below. In addition to the listed items you may bring, if you also have a pair of boat shoes like Topsiders or Docksiders then you should wear them. Tennis shoes or other soft soled shoes are OK too.

DO NOT wear hard soled shoes such as an old pair of dress shoes, penny loafers, or similar as they leave black scuff marks all over the deck plus there is a real danger of slipping right onto your backside in a split second. Tennis shoes or boat shoes are recommended.
Bring a cooler for food and drinks. Ask your Maryland charter boat Captain how large of a cooler you will need to carry your fish home in.
A sports bag is a good idea to bring for carrying your rain gear, hat, glasses etc and other personal items that you need on a saltwater charter fishing trip.
Bring all your food and drinks. If you want to bring beer you should clear it with the charter boat Captain first.
If you will be fishing in foul or rainy weather then you may want to bring some gear to keep you dry. Not as important on boats with covers.
Bring sun glasses. Preferrably polarized fishing glasses to lessen the sun’s glare that reflects up off the water.
Bring a camera to take snapshots of those big fish you catch or video of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay sights.
A hat or ball cap is a good idea, especially for you guys that are getting a bit thin on top. Protect your head from the sun’s burning rays.
If you get sea sick or aren’t sure if you get sea sick then it is a very wise idea to take your Dramamine before you leave the dock. Nothing can ruin a fishing trip worse than a guy named “RALPH”.
Even the Maryland Chesapeake Bay region can get very hot during the summer. Make sure you bring sunscreen, especially if you easily burn. If you are burnt up you can’t enjoy your Solomons Island charter fishing trip.
You probably already paid for the trip but you should make sure you have some cash in pocket so you can tip the First Mate. Being Mate on a charter boat is not easy work and these guys deserve every dime they get. Tip them well!
